Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common:
food, a talk and good conversation!
Every year at the start of autumn we run Alpha courses in the evening and during the day at St. John’s Church, Langdon Hills. This year we are going to run a Saturday Breakfast Alpha
This year we are trying something a bit different in the hope of making Alpha available to some new groups of people. Instead of our usual 10 Thursday evening sessions we are offering a shorter 7 session course over Saturday breakfast. We would love for YOU to join us!
Alpha is a really good way to investigate the Christian faith in a friendly and unpressurised environment. We run the course each autumn and several hundred people have enjoyed them over the years. This year the sessions will begin with breakfast and we will watch a DVD film on an aspect of the Christian faith followed by discussion in table groups. Much of the strength of Alpha lies in the friendships that are built and the open nature of the discussions where people are encouraged to ask questions and express their views.
Course Starts: Saturday 28th September
Ends: Saturday 9th November, time: 8.30 – 10.15am *
Place: St John's Church, Forest Glade, Langdon Hills, SS16 6RX, in the coffee bar.
We plan to offer a crèche, depending on demand. Please let us know if you would like this.
(*2nd November will be at a different local venue and longer for those who can stay)
Bring: yourself and maybe a friend, an open mind and a good appetite!
