Just to let you know what’s happening with CAP@Christmas this year! Plus details for those of you new to Basildon CAP debt centre
Each Christmas, our CAP clients receive a hamper of food and enough presents for everyone to receive one in their family
A number of churches and/or individuals buy presents, whereas all the food in the Hampers is funded jointly by local CAP and CAP Head office.
Each year, a different church hosts the “CAP@Christmas” event. This year we are based at St Johns, in Langdon Hills. The plan is:
- 12:30-3:30pm- hampers are packed & presents sorted out, for each family. This is done by church volunteers, plus befrienders and debt coaches
- 4-6pm-Christmas buffet for CAP workers and CAP clients.
If you want to bring someone from your church to help with the wrapping & packing process, please let me know asap, plus RSVP for the buffet. I will be producing a CAP@Christmas invitation which can be used with our CAP Clients. There will be some logistical issues with regard to lifts and dietary needs, which we will sort out in due course. Where CAP clients attend the buffet, we will send them home with their hamper; the rest will remain at St Johns for blessing on Sunday morning, and distribution in the following week.
